Optoma launches new 3D Ready Short-Throw Projectors

London, June 2013 – Building on the success of their existing short throw range, Optoma announce two follow-up models, the W305ST (WXGA 1280 x 800) and X305ST (XGA 1024 x 768). These two new short throw models, offer an incredibly powerful shadow-free projection solution in a small package. Designed with the business and education markets in mind, the new models are capable of producing a 60-inch/152cm diagonal widescreen image from as little as 68cm (WXGA) away from the screen.

At 3200/3000 (W305ST/X305ST) ANSI Lumens of brightness respectively and coupled with a contrast ratio of 18000:1 the new projectors, which use BrilliantColor(tm) technology from Texas Instruments, produce superb images with pin-sharp graphics and crystal clear text.

In Eco+ mode Optoma lamps have an outstanding life of 10,000 hours. To further reduce costs, these projectors also feature “Direct Power On” - significantly reducing start up time as standby mode is bypassed when the power cable is inserted into an active power outlet. The W305ST/X305ST, not only deliver reduced running costs, but reinforce our commitment to “environmentally friendly” features such as timer control functions and fast shut down and start-up.

Featuring WXGA and XGA resolution from a short throw lens, the W305ST and X305ST significantly improve connectivity and ease of use with their broad range of features. The W305ST and X305ST include an extensive range of inputs and outputs, including HDMI, RS232 and audio in and out.

Head of Product management at Optoma Europe, Justin Halls noted, “Projected images are an essential tool in training and education; students will be inspired by the stunning images. Using the inherent speed of DLP technology, Optoma projectors can output video and images at an astonishing rate of 120Hz allowing you to show full screen images even in 3D.”

The two projectors are DLP Link™ enabled and combined with suitable PC hardware and 3D educational software provide the ability for educators to engage students with latest 3D innovations in education.
